KATHA & KALA
Connecting the women who craft India's heritage with the women who choose to preserve it.
Where rural hands meet urban lives.
Katha & Kala, an initiative under HAIL Foundation, brings together two worlds that are often seen as separate — the creativity and craftsmanship of rural women, and the aspirations of the modern urban woman.
From villages, skilled women create thoughtfully designed, handmade products inspired by tradition, craft, and everyday life. In cities, working women discover pieces that are not only beautiful, but carry a story of skill, dignity, and independence.
It is more than a marketplace. It is a meeting point.
Katha & Kala creates opportunities for rural women to earn, build confidence, develop their own product showcase, and gradually turn their skills into sustainable livelihoods. At the same time, it gives urban women a way to connect with and support the hands behind what they bring into their lives.
One creates. One chooses. Both become part of the story.
Through this collaboration, craft travels from rural homes to urban spaces, ideas move in both directions, and every product
becomes a small bridge between two worlds.
Katha & Kala — connecting hands, stories and aspirations, one creation at a time.

हर कला की अपनी कथा।
The Katha & Kala logo beautifully blends the English “K” with the Hindi “क”, symbolising the coming together of tradition and contemporary expression.
The red dot is both a bindi and a nukta—a small yet powerful mark that adds identity and meaning.
Together, the symbol represents what Katha & Kala stands for: Indian roots, artistic expression, and stories transformed through creativity.
Katha — Stories. Kala — Art.
